LYSA – Lexington Youth Soccer Association
The Lexington Youth Soccer Association was incorporated in 1977 to promote “the growth and appreciation for the game of soccer by providing opportunities for youth to learn and participate in organized programs of soccer.” LYSA is a volunteer self-supporting organization run by the player's parents. LYSA is a member of Kentucky Youth Soccer Association (KYSA) and the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA).
In 1988, LYSA reached an agreement with the City of Lexington to develop a soccer complex at Masterson Station Park. It has conducted much of their recreational program at Masterson since. Its U5 and U6 programs are conducted at the Kentucky Farm Bureau field on Leestown Road, and it also has use of parks land off Berea Road near the Legacy Trail.
The LYSA board oversees 4 Programs: LYSA Recreational League, Lexington F.C. which is our competitive league, and TOPSoccer for special need players. With the addition of the LYSA Adult League, we now offer soccer for the entire family!
LYSA Recreational
Our Rec league offers teams in all age groups from 4U-18U. It's a wonderful league to begin playing soccer. It's the league for those who have never played and for those that have played for years, just because they love the sport. The Rec league depends on parent volunteers for all positions and because of this, it is required. We expecially need coaches - they are always in high demand. There are many levels of involvement to choose from including various LYSA committee positions. If you are interested in exploring the opportunities available within LYSA and feel your experience or background could help in these areas, please email office@lysa.org
