LYSA/LFC Pre-Academy is a new training program specifically designed to provide LYSA players with additional training from excellent, experienced, competitive club coaches, led by Jimmy Rue. Training will consist of 10 sessions on Friday nights for 1 1/2 hours each night. Note: This additional training is only being offered to U8 aged players who are currently registering for one of our LYSA U8 boys or girls recreational teams.
TOPSoccer is an exciting program specifically designed to meet the needs of athletes with physical, developmental, and/or intellectual disabilities aged 4 through adult! Play dates are: April 12, April 19, April 26, May 3, May 10, and May 17.
For those of you who registered in the fall, you already know about our new registration system called Blue Sombrero. If you did not register in the fall, you will need to register as a new user and set up a new account. Your user name and password with League One will not work with our new system. In our efforts to constantly improve your soccer experience with LYSA, Blue Sombrero has allowed LYSA to offer some new features that we think you will like:
- You Choose the Area -- In years past we have tried to place players on teams based on the physical home address of the player. We are trying something new this year! We will still place players together based on similar geographic areas, but now you will be able to select the area that is most convenient for your needs. While we cannot guarantee that the practices will be in this specific area, we will encourage our volunteer coaches to practice at a location that is fairest to all participants.
- New Volunteer Options -- As you know, LYSA is run by volunteers and relies on parents to help us keep the league running and the costs down. In order to streamline this process, we have revamped the volunteer roles a bit. We are also pleased to offer options for players aged 12 and up that will not only allow the player to contribute towards their playing experience, but could possibly qualify for any volunteer hours that might be required by schools, clubs, or community organizations.
- New Team Pages -- There are team pages available for every team. This will allow coaches and families on your team to communicate quickly and easily with each other, as well as give you the opportunity to post pictures and notices. This will be a fun way to share information and excitement during the season!
These are only a few of the exciting new options we are able to offer. We will still offer the popular “friend request”.
COACHES! Meeting is scheduled Saturday, March 7. See "Coaches" tab on the left for more information.
