Lexington Youth Soccer Association
The Lexington Youth Soccer Association was incorporated in 1977 to promote “the growth and appreciation for the game of soccer by providing opportunities for youth to learn and participate in organized programs of soccer.” LYSA is a not-for-profit, self-supporting organization. The organization is run by volunteers, most of whom are parents. LYSA is a member of Kentucky Youth Soccer Association and the United States Youth Soccer Association.
In 1988, LYSA reached an agreement with the City of Lexington to develop a soccer complex at Masterson Station Park. It has conducted much of its recreational program at Masterson Station since. It’s had programs conducted at the Kentucky Farm Bureau field off Leestown Road, and it also has use of parks land off Berea Road near the Legacy Trail.
The LYSA Board oversees three programs: LYSA Youth Recreational League for U4 to U19 players, LYSA TOPSoccer Leage for children and adults with disabilities, and the LYSA Adult League for adult recreational and competitive players.

Mission Statement
To promote the growth and appreciation of the game of soccer. We strive to teach the rules of soccer, to instill sportsmanship, and to promote and enhance enjoyment of the game by providing organized programs for youth and adults in Fayette County and the surrounding Bluegrass region.
LYSA Recreational
Our recreational league offers teams in all age groups from 4U-19U. It’s a wonderful league to begin playing soccer. It’s the league for those who have never played and for those that have played for years, just because they love the sport. The recreational league depends on parent volunteers for all positions and because of this, it is required. We especially need coaches – they are always in high demand! There are many levels of involvement to choose from including various LYSA committee positions. If you are interested in exploring the opportunities available within LYSA and feel your experience or background could help in these areas, please email office@lysa.org.
LYSA TOPSoccer (TOPS – The Outreach Program for Soccer)
TOPS is a recreational sports program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated soccer clubs, such as the Lexington Youth Soccer Association. TOPS provides people with diverse abilities with an opportunity to play soccer in a structured environment that is safe, fun, supportive and inclusive. The TOPS program was founded by the US Youth Soccer Association in 1990 and became one of LYSA’s leagues in 2009. LYSA’s TOPSoccer program is run by volunteer administrators, coaches, buddies and support staff. Sessions are held in the fall and the spring at a local indoor facility. Details about the program and volunteer opportunities can be accessed under the TOPSoccer section of this website.
LYSA Adult Soccer
The LYSA Adult Soccer League is an adult recreational outdoor soccer league operated by the Lexington Youth Soccer Association. We offer full-sided co-ed soccer league play for all adult ages and skill levels. In session from spring to fall, the LYSA Adult Soccer League offers leagues for players of all interests. The divisions include competitive, recreational and over-40. Depending on the schedule, leagues vary from 8-12 games. For more information email: lysaadultsoccer@lysa.org.
